About Us

We are a group of Technicians with relevant professional biographies, well known in the underground construction industry and especially in the very diversified subsector of microtunnelling, pipe jacking and other kinds of boring procedures.
From 2012, we combined our experience and capabilities, channelling them through the Company we introduce here to you: BALCE Ingeniería Subsuelo y Microtúneles, S.L.

What we do bring

Mainly, our long and successful previous experience in the fields provided. We can say that, in common, we have taken part in most of the major projects of sewer and supplying systems carried out in our country along the last 22 years, highlighting very singular and risky works:

  1. Sea outfalls for sewage treatment plants, desalination units or for chemical industries and marine farms.
  2. Pipe - jacking in sensitive urban areas.
  3. “Raise boring” drillings for water supply.
  4. Horizontal Directed Drilling and Direct Pipe.
  5. Water tunnels executed with both blasting method and TBM’s.
  6. Galleries restoring.
  7. Construction of vertical shafts, etc.

What we do offer.

  • Our technical service, in the preliminary design phase, for feasibility study, selection of construction procedures and cost study.
  • Drafting of construction projects.
  • Drafting of underground and blasting projects.
  • Support for detail study in the Project phase: layout, terrain behaviour, construction procedures, difficulties, alternatives, proposal of preventive actions.
  • Technical assistance in jobsite: Countermeasures for prevention of injury and damage, diminishing of execution risk, advice on selection of materials, control of activities.
  • Specialized advice on specific problems that arise in the execution.
  • Complete management of the Project, from its awarding till its finishing.
  • Carrying out geological and geotechnical studies, in the Project phase of works in our area, or in complementary campaigns.
  • Previous studies of subsidence and preparation and execution of Auscultation Plans and condition surveillance.
  • Direction of Projects and Works.
  • Design of specific components or tools within the scope of the Project execution.
  • Procedures for control of materials.
  • Calculation of support in tunnels, galleries, shafts, slopes.
  • Other possible actions based on specific customer’s needs.
